All new to college students are required to meet with an advisor. It is highly recommended that all transfer students meet with an advisor.

All students that are new to college are required to meet with an academic advisor. You should have been contacted by your advisor, however if you have not been contacted yet, please schedule an appointment with your advisor to get registered for classes.

Your advisor will contact you by using the information listed in your myGBC student center. Please make sure that your information is updated to ensure you are receiving all communications from GBC.

There are a variety of different options for meeting with an academic advisor. Advisors can meet with you by phone, email, or GoogleHangouts. Let your advisor know how you would like to meet and they will schedule it for you.

When you meet with your academic advisors they will assist you with making an educational plan that will help you stay on track towards degree completion. They will also provide you with resources that will help you be successful in college.

Please schedule an appointment to meet with your academic advisor before you change your program of study.

1) Show up; 2) Participate; 3) Ask for help. Students who go to classes, do their homework, ask questions and apply smart study skills generally do well in school. GBC has services available to support students. Advisors can assist in referring you to appropriate resources.
