MTC Scholarship
GBC Career and Technical Education Program offers the Maintenance Training Cooperative (MTC) Scholarship and is supported by local mines and businesses. In most cases, this scholarship includes an internship. Application for the MTC Scholarship is optional and not required for consideration into the programs. Students can receive $5000 toward a BAS degree in Instrumentation or AAS degree or Certificate of Achievement in the diesel technology, welding technology, industrial plant mechanics or electrical systems programs at GBC. Nevada Promise Scholarship
Beginning with the graduating class of 2018, high school seniors in Nevada may apply for the Nevada Promise Scholarship at GBC, which will provide for up to three years of no cost registration fees and other mandatory fees to eligible students. Learn more.

Apply for a Scholarship

Scholarship awards may vary.

Graduating Nevada high school students who are eligible for a Millennium Scholarship can visit the Nevada State Treasurer website and view the instructions about activating this scholarship. Students who are eligible for the Nevada Promise Scholarship view information about this scholarship.

To apply for other scholarships, follow the steps below:

  1. Order official transcripts
    If you are enrolling directly from high school, order an official transcript from your high school. If you have completed at least one semester at GBC, order a GBC transcript (instructions). If you have earned college credits elsewhere, order an official transcript from that institution. Have those transcripts mailed to Student Financial Services (address below).
  2. Apply for a Username and Password and complete the FAFSA application
    Some scholarships are awarded partly on a basis of financial need. To compete for those scholarships, you will need to complete the two steps below. Complete instructions, including videos, for these two steps can be found on the Apply for Loans and Grants page, Steps 1 and 2.
    1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To complete the FAFSA application, you will need the GBC code: 006977
  3. Fill Out a Scholarship Application
    1. 2024-2025 Scholarship Application.
      Extended Application Due Date: March 15, 2024, for the academic year 2024-25 by 5:00 pm
  4. Return the Scholarship Application on or before the deadline shown on the application to Student Financial Services (address below).
  5. GBC Scholarship Brochure. Updated list of scholarship available in all program areas COMING SOON!
