Academic Excellence – GBC Nursing Students Do It Again

Great Basin College School of Health Sciences and Behavioral Health is thrilled to announce another 100 percent pass rate for NCLEX exam for the 2025 Associate of Applied Science in Nursing graduates.

This marks the fourth consecutive year of a 100 percent pass rate. Great Basin College has proved to consistently rank number one in the state of Nevada for preparing nursing students to pass the NCLEX licensure examination and practice as safe and competent nurses.

In addition to a long-standing history of having a remarkably high NCLEX pass rate, almost all of GBC's nursing graduates return to their communities upon graduation and are serving in these rural areas throughout the state. Over 80 percent of GBC nursing graduates are serving in rural communities, with over 90 percent staying in the state of Nevada.

"We are incredibly proud to celebrate our fourth year of a 100% NCLEX pass rate. This achievement reflects the hard work of our nursing students, the dedication and expertise of our nursing faculty, and the strength of our curriculum. It also demonstrates Great Basin College's continued commitment to preparing exceptional healthcare professionals who are ready to serve our communities," said Staci Warnert, Dean of Health Sciences and Behavioral Health.

GBC had its first graduates in the nursing program taking advantage of the new Paramedic/LPN Bridge pathway. These students entered the nursing program during the second year, already with previous healthcare experience and education. Five students from this pathway are included in our 100% pass rate. This curricular pathway offers the opportunity for more students to advance their healthcare careers by becoming Registered nurses.

Not only is GBC's nursing program successful in preparing graduates to pass the NCLEX, but it is local, affordable, and focused on the student. Small class sizes and a low student to faculty ratio create a personalized and efficient learning environment.
