Meet Denise Padilla
2022- “Education and literacy are my passion, and I want students to realize their full potential. I want them to see all that is possible for their own lives and always remember to continue to learn.”
Denise Padilla started at Great Basin College in the fall of 2017. She graduated summa cum laude from Southern Utah University with a B.A. in Elementary Education and a dual minor in literacy and English. She also completed a M Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading, from Grand Canyon University.
Prior to her work at GBC, she spent 16 years as an elementary education teacher for Clark County, White Pine County, and Elko County School Districts teaching grades 1, 3 and 4. During that time, she was also the White Pine County School District Response to Intervention Facilitator for 7 years.
Denise is currently the Elementary Education Program Supervisor at Elko’s GBC campus. She also supervises the elementary baccalaureate and the elementary and special education alternative route to licensure (ARL) programs.
