Strategic Planning Process

Great Basin College administration, faculty, staff, and students are developing a new strategic plan for GBC. The process, progress, and documentation for this plan are reported below.

Survey - August 25, 2021

  1. Develop questions for external stakeholders
  2. Identify external stakeholders to survey
  3. Finalize and distribute survey

Review - September 15, 2021

Finalize SWOT - October 20, 2021

  1. Review SWOT and add any stakeholder information from survey.

Status: Reviewed survey, basecamp app., and discussed SWOT. Assigned task to compare SWOT and survey.

Mission & Values - October 27, 2021

  1. Develop Mission

Progress: These have been developed and are being fine-tuned.

Strategic Plan – November 3 and 10, 2021

  1. Identify Key Strategies (KPI)
  2. Short- and long-term goals
  3. Operational Plans
  4. Data analytics

Progress: The KPI and data analytics have not been developed as the themes and goals need to be approved first.

Review – November 17, 2021

  1. Review Strategies
  2. Review Goals
  3. Review Plans
  4. Adjust as necessary
  5. Plan information sharing with college

Progress: These are being reviewed. Plan sharing should happen in February.
