Great Basin College wants to be your choice for higher education. GBC offers associate and baccalaureate level instruction in career and technical education and academic areas. About 4,000 students are enrolled annually online from across the country and on campuses and centers across 86,500 square miles, two time zones, and ten of Nevada's largest counties. A two-step TB test and a current professional CPR card, from a nationally recognized organization, are required prior to enrolling in the course. When these items are complete, visit our Health Science Department, or your local center, to enroll in the course.
The CNA course in a six week course consisting of 20 hours of didactic work, 20 hours of skills and 20 hours of clinical.
The hybrid course is scheduled with the first week being taught online. The second, third and fourth weeks are scheduled for skills training. The last two weeks are scheduled for clinical days and testing.
A fast paced, three week course, is scheduled during the winter break.
You must be 16 years of age to enroll in a CNA Course.
You do not need a diploma or GED in order to enroll in a CNA Course.
The total cost will be between $900.00 and $1,000.00

GBC offers Basic Life Support courses through our Health Sciences Department.
Background checks must be completed through the company authorized by GBC. You will be given instructions on the background and drug screen process once you have been enrolled in the course.
