About 4,000 students are enrolled annually online from across the country and on campuses and centers across 86,500 square miles, two time zones, and ten of Nevada's largest counties. The Nevada Promise Scholarship application is available and due August 1, 2024 and closes October 31, 2024, for the 2024-25 graduating class. Apply online.
Great Basin College is officially participating in the Nevada Promise Scholarship, established by the Nevada Legislature in 2017. Beginning with the graduating class of 2018, Nevada students may apply for the Nevada Promise Scholarship at GBC, which will provide for up to three years of coverage of registration fees and other mandatory fees to eligible students.
As a last-dollar scholarship, the Nevada Promise Scholarship covers the cost of registration fees and other mandatory fees (tuition is not charged to residents of Nevada) not met by other gift aid, subject to appropriation. For the purposes of the Nevada Promise Scholarship, gift aid is defined as a federal Pell Grant, a federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, a Nevada Silver State Opportunity Grant or a Governor Guinn Millennium Scholarship.
