Title IX Training for Employees and Students

All Great Basin College employees are required to complete Sexual Harassment, Discrimination and Title IX awareness training as required by the Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) for classified employees and by the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Board Of Regents Policy Title 4, Chapter 8 for all employees, which states in part:

“Each institution shall provide ongoing training on the prevention of unlawful discrimination and harassment and shall designate a person(s) or office to be responsible for such training.”

“Within six (6) months after an employee is initially appointed to NSHE, the employee shall receive training regarding the prevention of unlawful discrimination and harassment, including primary prevention and awareness training. At least once every two years after the appointment, an employee shall receive training concerning the prevention of unlawful discrimination and harassment.”

Additionally, Great Basin College provides new and continuing students training on the prevention of unlawful discrimination and harassment.

Employee and student training is offered in an online format in partnership with NSHE who has contacted with Vector Solutions LMS to provide sexual harassment, discrimination and Title IX awareness training for students and employees. The training website may be reached using your web browser, go to the Vector LMS, Higher Education Student Edition website for Great Basin College: https://gbcnv-nv.vectorlmsedu.com/. Your login will be your GBC email address.

Employees will receive their course assignment(s) and login directions via email from the training administrator. At least once every two years all employees shall attend refresher training on the prevention of sexual harassment and discrimination.  Upon completion of the training, you will receive a confirmation email and a printable certificate.  You do not need to provide the certificate to the college, that is for your personal records.

Students will receive their course assignment via email to the email address provided to Great Basin College. Students are advised that email is the official method of contact for them from Great Basin College, they are expected to check their email on a regular basis.
