Program Overview

The Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree is designed for students intending to transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a traditional liberal arts education. The A.A. provides for two years of study in general education, and it allows you to begin your major in such fields as Art, English, Business, and History. You can complete two years of study toward a bachelor’s degree and satisfy the requirements summary for an Associate of Arts Degree. Please also refer to refer to college-wide graduation requirements for the A.A. degree.

With a strong faculty and commitment to higher learning, GBC has always provided solid liberal arts coursework for its students. Students who pursue the Associate of Arts degree will gain valuable experience in reading, writing, and thinking. They will be asked to analyze, experience, and evaluate. They will learn much about themselves in the process. They will find GBC offers sophisticated and challenging liberal arts courses, taught in a cordial atmosphere by faculty dedicated to teaching.
