About the Program
The Alternative Route to Licensure Program (ARL) at GBC enables students who have completed an undergraduate degree in a field other than secondary education to become eligible for licensure to teach in Nevada. GBC currently offers programs in mathematics, science, social science, English, and business education.
In order to apply to the program, a student must have already completed a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution as well as have an offer of employment from a NV school district. If no offer exists at the time of application, students may do a post-baccalaureate program until an offer is made available.
To complete the Post-Bacc or ARL program as efficiently as possible, it is imperative that students seek advising from education department personnel upon acceptance into the program.
Be sure to consult with your adviser for which Praxis tests are needed, then go to ets.org/praxis/nv to register and schedule exams.
