Join Great Basin College and travel the world! GBC Continuing Education coordinates the Educational Travel program which offers travel opportunities in the U.S. and abroad. The mission of GBC Continuing Education is to provide lifelong learning opportunities for residents in GBC communities through diverse educational courses. These courses are often only a few sessions in length and reflect a variety of topics that appeal to different groups. Great Basin College hosts many social and cultural events each year that are often organized through the Continuing Education office and the GBC Arts and Cultural Enrichment committee.

Educational Travel: Caribbean Cruise - March 2015!

Cruisin' 101!

If you've always wanted to go on a cruise, this is a great opportunity! GBC is offering a Continuing Education Caribbean Cruise 2015 poster graphicclass, Cruisin' 101! Come and learn the fun of cruising from experienced guides and go on an escorted cruise! Everyone in the community is invited to participate. This cruise runs from March 22 through the 28, 2015.

An informational meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 5 pm in the Electrical Industrial Technology (EIT) building, room #208 on the Elko campus. This trip, aboard the Carnival Breeze, features exciting ports of call including Ocho Rios - Jamaica, Grand Cayman Island - Cayman Islands, and Cozumel - Mexico. Cruise price includes:

Journey beyond the ordinary! Join Dr. Lijuan Zhai, March 22 - April 2 for a tour of this ancient and intriguing country.

Lijuan grew up near Heze, China,where her parents were public school teachers. She attended Shandong Agriculture University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. After graduation, she lived in Beijing for nine years. She moved to the U.S. in 1995 as a graduate student at Ohio State University, where she earned her PhD.
