Mission Statement: As a strategic partner with Great Basin College Administrators, it is the mission of the Human Resources Office to advance the overall mission of the College by providing and developing a full range of innovative and comprehensive human resource management services to assist the College in attracting and retaining qualified employees, thereby promoting the philosophy that our employees are our most valuable resource. The Human Resources Office will provide exceptional customer service to all prospective, current and former employees to develop and maintain excellent employee relations within the College community. The Human Resources staff will continue to develop and implement efficient, cost-effective policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and local laws pertaining to personnel and affirmative action.
GOALS
1.  Goal: Provide and develop a full range of innovative and comprehensive human resource management services. (Theme 3)
  OBJECTIVES
  1.1  Objective: Develop a data warehouse for HR data so that required data for reports is more easily accessible. (2010-2011)

    ACTION PLAN  
    1.1.1  Task: Work in conjunction with computer services to establish and maintain a data warehouse (2010-2011)

  1.2  Objective: Provide and track mandatory State supervisory training for all employees who supervise classified employees.

Status: Ongoing

    ACTION PLAN  
    1.2.1  Task: Work with BCN HR and State Personnel to provide mandatory supervisory training for all employees who supervise classified employees.

Status: Ongoing

    1.2.2  Task: Develop and maintain spreadsheet to track mandatory training for supervisors and notify employees when training is required to maintain certification.

2.  Goal: Provide exceptional customer service. (Theme 3)

  2.1  Objective: Continue cross-training within HR office.

    2.1.1  Task: Set up a schedule and provide ongoing training for each employee within HR office.

  2.2  Objective: Provide a computer in a separate area within the HR office so applicants may complete online job applications.
