Great Basin College enriches people's lives by providing student-centered, post-secondary education to rural Nevada. GBC is a comprehensive community college that provides educational opportunities to over 3,800 students across 86,500 square miles, in ten of Nevada's largest counties bordering five states. A career pathway is a clear sequence of educational coursework and/or training credentials that assists individuals in obtaining skills and credentials that help secure employment or advance in a career (TAACCCT Grant Program). Great Basin College provides multiple options for students to achieve their career goals. I am the Pathways Specialist for Great Basin College. My role is to: identify, develop, publish, and market career pathways for potential and current students. I will work to create opportunities for students to gain training and employment advancement in the workforce, focusing on work-based learning opportunities in these program areas: Millwright, Welding, and Instrumentation. I will also help students to evaluate career pathway options at Great Basin College.
